This year for Golden week!!

This year for Golden week I went to Enoshima. Unfortunately, the weather was rainy. I also went on a 15 km bike ride.

I am exited for next week because it’s Golden Week. This Golden Week is special because the era is changing from Heisei to Reiwa. Before Heisei was Showa, Japan’s longest era which lasted 62 years.

This week I read a Japanese book called Btchan. It was translated to English. It was surprised how funny it was because it’s over 100 years old.

Last week I went to my first Japanese baseball game. I noticed the stadium was smaller than American stadiums. The game was a lot of fun and the Baystars won!

This week I tried a new food, horse liver Sashimi. Horse isn’t eaten often in America. The taste was interesting, and better than I thought it would be.

This week I learned the price of a driver’s license in Japan. In America, the price is usually under $20(2,198￥). In Japan the price is 300,000￥.

Unfortunately “Hey fever” was started in Japan. In English, we sometimes call this, “allergies” because people are trees blossoming. The symptoms can be “runny nose,” itchy eyes” and “scratchy throat.”

The weather is getting nice in Japan which means baseball is stating. Baseball is popular in America and many Japanese play, At games, fans usually eat peanuts and hot dogs.

In 1912, Mayor Ozaki of Tokyo gave America’s capital, Washington D.C. of large amount of cherry blossoms in 1934, the first cherry blossom festival was held, in March and April. There are many celebrations around Washington D.C.

The season is starting to change in Japan from winter to spring. This means the weather will become winter, but also means hay fever for many people in Japan. In America, we often call this “allergies.” It’s caused by all the new flowers and “pollen” in the air.
